What is a Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery System?
Designed for both residential and commercial properties, Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems are increasing in popularity due to their ability to help maintain a more pleasant environment on a continual basis. Especially important, when you consider that we spend approximately 90% of our time indoors.
In principle, a MVHR system draws air into the building from the outside, it purifies the air through the filters, then takes it through a heat exchanger and supplies the clean air into the habitable spaces. A completely separate ducting system extracts air out of the foul air rooms (toilets, bathrooms, kitchens etc.) through the other side of the same heat exchanger and distributes it out of the building. This enables a balanced ventilation system where you are supplying exactly the same quantity of air into the building as you are extracting out of it.
